What a great way to escape the winter blues! Our trip to the aquatic center was just wonderful. All the children were so well behaved and had a blast. Our pictures are limited due to just enjoying the day! We are a little late with these pictures. Enjoy our pictures from the Hardwick trails. We were a little disappointed that we did not see a lot of tracks, but we did smell a skunk! We walked a long time and even got to do a little sliding. It certainly was a fun day On Wednesday we went to the Rail Trail. We were detectives looking for animal tracks. We may have found some deer and squirrel, but we are positive that we found bunny tracks. We think they may have had a bunny party in the woods! We walked a long ways and even came across a few snowmobiles. Enjoy our pictures. Today, two literacy groups in Miss Rivers' class, performed plays. One play has Jack, Josh and Hillerie, the other is Maya, Natalie and Colin. They did a wonderful job for their first time performing! They are a little hard to hear so make sure your volume is up. Enjoy... We had a busy day on Wednesday. We began with our winter wellness trip to Kingdom Gymnastics the we spent the afternoon in the Danville woods. We started to build a lean-to and look for animal tracks. We were very successful! We were able to get about half of our lean-to done and found mouse, rabbit and deer tracks. We followed the tracks and talked about why these animals were taking specific routes around the woods. Our next visit will be spent on finishing our lean-to and building a snowman (if the snow is right) that will have some treats for the animals. We were quite busy so we did not get as many photos as we had wanted....enjoy! Wow! What a week. We were so very busy and productive. The students did an incredible job and we are VERY proud of them. We tried to remember to take pictures and to our amazement, actually captured a lot of great moments. We want to wish all our families a happy and glorious holiday and though we will enjoy our vacation, am excited to see everyone in the new year! We are so excited to have our new outdoor learning tools. We received a grant from the VT NEA and purchased some additional items for Outdoor Learning. We not have waterproof backpacks, water nets, compasses, tape measures, and sifting pans. We also received flower seeds that we will plant in the spring.
Due to the predicted wind chill, we will not be going to the Danville woods for outdoor learning. We will visit the Danville woods briefly on Friday afternoon to hang the treats we made last week.
The weather did not look promising when we boarded the bus! Luckily, by the time we got to Hardwick things were looking up. We were very excited to explore the brook and noticing the ice sheets that had formed. The water temperature has dropped to 40 degrees. We built our shelters and left some peanuts for out little woodland friends. The next time we come we will bring treats for the birds. Enjoy the pictures we have and may be adding some new pictures soon. |
