Today we went to the Hardwick Trails as a part of our outdoor learning. What a great time we had! We walked the trail that we will be using, learning our boundaries and then playing in the brook. We were glad that it was hot! Thanks so much for the parents that were able to come and help out. Also, we welcome Logyn Britch, a senior at Danville. She will be helping out during our Outdoor Learning time. Enjoy our pictures! (We took many pictures that it was hard to keep track, so sorry if there are doubles in our slide show.)
Open House was wonderful! How fun to share our classroom with our families
Thanks to Amelia's mom for more pictures from the rail trail!
Today we walked to the rail trail. The children did a wonderful job! We noticed things that were the same and things that were different. We sketched in our outdoor journals and left our 'kindness rocks" along the trail. Thanks to the parents that were able to help. Enjoy our pictures!
Today the first graders went to the Corn Maze with their big buddies. Though it was very hot, we still had a great time. We took the scenic route and were all able to make it through! Enjoy our pictures.
Today we went into the woods behind our school. We played hide and seek to show how the woods can camouflage us, played the whistle game so we could learn how to find an adult and circle up, then we explored. We found many wonderful things. Unfortunately, we also found ground bees! Maya was very brave after being stung. We collected a rock to decorate as a part of the kindness rock project and finished by making a mandala with things we found in nature. Enjoy our pictures. A big thanks to the parents that were able to help out today!
